Description
Wild-caught Pacific Halibut is a tasty white fish with a mildly sweet flavor and firm, flaky meat. Halibut is high in protein, packed with vitamins and minerals, and is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Halibut fishing runs in our co-founder Ashley's family. Her great grandfather was a halibut fisherman over 100 years ago on a fishing vessel named "The Grant." Check out the photo of his halibut recipe book which has been passed down through the family for generations.
Our wild halibut is sustainably caught in frigid Alaskan waters using the longline fishing technique for a low environmental impact. The seafood is quickly processed and blast frozen to capture the halibut's natural ocean-fresh flavor for you to enjoy.
Wild Pacific halibut from Premier Catch is perfectly portioned into 8 ounce pieces, with the skin and bones removed. Each halibut fillet portion is individually packed and vacuum sealed without water.
Wild Pacific Halibut can take on any taste and is quick to cook. This healthy fish is best seasoned with strongly flavored rubs and sauces, and will be ready to eat in less than 20 minutes.
Serving Size
One 8 ounce halibut fillet portion will feed 1 adult or 2 children. Each package contains 6 pieces of Pacific halibut.
Storage & Preparation
How to store frozen halibut: Our Wild Pacific Halibut should be kept frozen until you are ready to cook it. It can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but for best flavor and texture, use within 6 months of purchase.
How to thaw frozen halibut: The safest way to thaw Wild Pacific Halibut is under refrigeration. We recommend removing the halibut from the original packaging, placing it on a plate, and allowing it to thaw in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, or overnight.
For faster thawing, you may place the sealed portions of halibut in a bowl of very cold water for 30-45 minutes. Once thaw, remove the halibut from the packaging, rinse gently with cool water, and pat dry.
Keep your wild halibut refrigerated until you are ready to prepare it. We recommend consuming it within 2-3 days of thawing.
