Description

Wild-caught Alaskan Cod is a delicious mild white fish with a slightly sweet flavor and flaky, firm flesh. Best known as the star of the fish and chips recipe, cod is low in fat and high in protein. Other names include Pacific Cod, Alaska Cod and True Cod.

Our Wild Alaska Cod fish is sustainably caught in the icy waters of the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska, using the hook and line fishing method for a low environmental impact. The fish is immediately processed and blast frozen right onboard the vessel. This captures the cod's natural ocean-fresh flavor for you to enjoy.

Wild-Caught Alaskan Cod from Premier Catch is perfectly portioned into 8 ounce pieces, with the skin and bones removed. Each portion is individually packed and vacuum sealed without water.

Cod fish is incredibly versatile and easy to cook. This healthy fish can be grilled, fried, roasted, or sauteed and will be ready to eat in less than 30 minutes.

Serving Size

One 8 ounce cod fish fillet portion will feed 1 adult or 2 children. Each package contains 6 pieces of Alaska cod.

Storage & Preparation

How to store frozen cod: Our Wild Alaska Cod should be kept frozen until you are ready to cook it. It can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but for best flavor and texture, use within 6 months of purchase.

How to thaw frozen cod: The safest way to thaw Wild Alaska Cod is under refrigeration. We recommend removing the fish from the original packaging, placing it on a plate, and allowing it to thaw in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, or overnight.

For faster thawing, you may place the sealed portions of fish in a bowl of very cold water for 30-45 minutes. Once thaw, remove the fish from the packaging, rinse gently with cool water, and pat dry.

Keep your wild cod refrigerated until you are ready to prepare it. We recommend consuming it within 2-3 days of thawing.
