Crab meat rangoons

Air Fryer Crab Rangoons

Six ounces of wild Dungeness folded into softened cream cheese with green onion, soy and Worcestershire, sealed in wonton wrappers and air fried at 350°F for about five minutes. They come out golden and bubbly without deep frying, though you can deep fry them if you would rather. Serve them straight away with sweet chili sauce.

This follows a traditional crab rangoon recipe (basically a cheesy crab puff ball of goodness) but is extra delicious with real, wild Dungeness crab meat -- and super simple cooked in the air fryer! You may also deep-fry, if preferred.

Air Fryer Crab Rangoons

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Wild Dungeness Crab Meat

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temp

  • 3 tbsp green onions, chopped

  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 20 square wonton wrappers

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • fresh parsley, chopped, optional

  • sweet chili sauce, for dipping

Directions

  1. Thaw the crab meat and loosely chop any large pieces.

  2. Gently mix crab with softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, soy sauce and worcestershire sauce until combined.

  3. Whisk egg in small bowl and set aside.

  4. Place one wonton wrapper at a time on a cutting board and fill with 2 tsp of crab mixture.

  5. Dip finger in beaten egg and run along the edge of the wrapper and then pinch to close, bringing each corner into the center. Brush egg mixture on top of each wonton wrapper once closed.

  6. Place rangoons on air fryer tray (or basket) in single layer and air fry at 350°F for approx 5 min, until golden brown, bubbly and just crispy on top.

  7. Garnish with chopped parsley (optional).

  8. Serve immediately with sweet chili sauce.
