This Sockeye Salmon Crudo is a stunning, no-cook appetizer that’s as elegant as it is simple. Featuring sushi-grade sockeye salmon, fresh cucumber, avocado, and a zesty citrus-soy dressing, this dish is light, refreshing, and perfect for entertaining or a healthy starter.

Ingredients

8 oz Wild Alaska Sockeye salmon, thinly sliced
1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
½ avocado, diced
1 red chili or Fresno pepper, thinly sliced
1 green onion, thinly sliced
1 lime, cut into wedges (plus extra zest for garnish)
Toasted sesame seeds and nori flakes (optional garnish)

3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp honey or agave
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 tsp lime juice
Directions
- Keep the salmon well chilled until ready to slice; pat dry with paper towels before slicing.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, ginger, and lime juice. Set aside.
- Arrange cucumber slices in a circle on a serving plate.
- Layer the salmon slices over the cucumber.
- Scatter avocado, chili slices, and green onion on top.
- Drizzle the citrus-soy dressing over the salmon and vegetables.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and nori flakes, if using.
- Garnish with lime wedges and lime zest, and serve immediately.
