The simplest way to thaw fish is to move the product from the freezer to the fridge in the morning or the night before you plan to cook it.
If you need your fish thawed within 30 minutes to a few hours, keep the frozen fish in its plastic package and place it in a big bowl, covered with water that’s cooler than room temperature. Change the water every 20 or 30 minutes or until the fish is fully thawed. Make sure the water temperature is cool, warm or hot water will mess up the texture of the fish.
Yes! You can place a piece of frozen salmon in the airfryer for 15 minutes, rather than 7 minutes, and it will be delicious. One of our Premier Catch Athletes, Olivia Moultrie, swears by this method when she is short on time!
No. We do not recommend microwaving any frozen fish. The dramatic heat
change can change the texture and ruin the product.
Yes! We suggest partially thawing a package of scallops and breaking off a portion before it is completely thawed. You can continue to thaw the smaller portion in a ziploc bag and seal the rest in its original package.
